STATE Emergency Service volunteers at Pakenham received new equipment last week.

Car and home insurer AAMI presented a glass management kit and six first aid kits to Pakenham SES controller Andrew Graham and volunteer Debbie Graham.

The donation was part of AAMI’s $500,000 partnership with the SES, which will equip every unit across the state with new rescue equipment.

AAMI general manager southern region Anthony Durakovic said the handover would boost the Pakenham unit’s ability to respond to emergencies.

“We’re pleased to continue our support for the SES, whose volunteers give so generously of their time in training and responding to natural and human emergencies such as major weather events, road accidents, and search and rescue operations,” he said.
