CASEY Council hopes that St Kilda Football Club will move its home base to Casey Fields, Cranbourne.

Casey Fields is one option being explored as the club prepares to leave its Moorabbin base.

Casey mayor Colin Butler said the council endorsed the principle of supporting a move by St Kilda to Casey Fields, and earlier this year obtained a planning permit for an AFL football club training and administration facility.

“I note St Kilda’s desire to have a world class facility ready by the start of 2009 and I believe Casey Fields is one of the few locations that can make such an objective a reality,” Cr Butler said.
