Big House staff, left to right, Tracey O’Brien, Laura Patton, director Andre Van Eymeren and Debbie Taylor are looking forward to the community visiting The Meeting Place.

LOCALS now have a new place to hang out after Big House Communities opened its Meeting Place on Monday.

The new lounge is part of Big House’s Treloar Lane Op Shop, which has been open since March to help fund the transformation.

Cardinia Shire mayor Kate Lempriere officially opened the new hub, which provides a place for people to meet and hang out.

The Meeting Place also has computers connected to the Internet that can be used for a gold coin donation.

Director of Big House Communities Andre Van Eymeren said anyone was welcome to use the new lounge.

“People are more than welcome to come use the computers and have a coffee,” he said.

Big House also plans to use the space for small arts and crafts workshops and is looking for volunteer tutors to run them.

The Meeting Place is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturdays from 9.30 to 1pm.

The lounge is also available for small functions and workshops.
