Metro Salon and Spa Supplies recently became part of the PakenhamBusiness Group. Pictured are Metro owner Jules Van Gerrevink (front), with Pakenham Business Group committee members Jack Mitchell, Sandra Butler and Greg Miller.

PAKENHAM Business Group is encouraging traders to sign up to ensure their interests are looked after as the town’s business district continues to grow.

The business group has been an active voice for local businesses since its formation two years ago. Pakenham Business Group committee member Greg Miller said there were many advantages associated with joining the group.

“It’s about having a united voice, having a say with council and knowing about developments in the shire,” he said.

Metro Salon and Spa Supplies is the latest business to join the group.

The business, located in Pakenham’s Industrial Estate on Racecourse Road, sells supplies for hairdressers in the area.

Metro owner Jules Van Gerrevink said joining the group was a great way to voice any issues concerning her business.

“We joined to network with other businesses and to have some input into what’s happening in the business community,” she said.

“As a group you can action things better than an individual.”

The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at The Chapel on McGregor Road.
