MUSIC enthusiasts will have a ball during the Spectrum Entertainment’s annual Push Start Battle of the Bands competition heats to be held next month.
The contest will be held over three dates at two locations and is expected draw nearly 1000 music fans from across Casey who will choose a band to represent the city at the regional finals.
Landlords drummer Jonathan Gay said it was unreal when his band won the 2006 Battle of the Bands.
The group went on to play at top venues including St Kilda’s Esplanade Hotel and Ruby’s Lounge in Belgrave.
Heats will be held at Cranbourne Public Hall on Friday 6 July and Narre Warren Community Learning Centre on Friday, 13 July, with the final at Cranbourne Public Hall on Friday, 27 July.
Casey’s manager of youth and family services Lee McIntosh said the Battle of the Bands series was a great way for new bands to find a following and for music lovers to hear the latest sounds.
