THE fate of grocery giant Aldi’s bid to set up in Pakenham will be decided at the state planning tribunal.

The discount chain store has earmarked a site in the Lakeside estate, not far from the existing Coles supermarket, but its application for a permit has been contested. The one day Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearing had been listed for 12 July.
