A PAKENHAM man has been charged with aggravated burglary after a theft in Bellbird Close last week.

Police say the 27-year-old man from the Meeking Drive area, entered the nearby Bellbird Close house after cutting his way through fly wire about 4am on Monday, 28 May.

The home owner awoke and confronted the would-be burglar who was attempting to steal a laptop computer. The owner held him for police, but the man escaped before officers arrived.
