BERWICK Brae retirement village celebrated its silver anniversary with a formal dinner on Thursday.
Five residents who have lived at the village since it opened in 1982 - Nancie Gower, Margaret (Peg) Briggs, Ken Briggs, Margaret Hill and Harold Smith - were among residents and staff who celebrated the 25th birthday.
They helped to cut of the cake for the event.
A Scottish piper welcomed residents as they arrived. Then Ron Berry, kilt and all, presented the piping of the Haggis.
During and after dinner, Tommy Carter’s Jazz/Swing Band provided the entertainment for the evening.
Management, residents and staff danced the night away and enjoyed the special celebration.
The function was held in the original homestead built in the late 1880s by the Wilson family from stone quarried at the Berwick Quarry, now Wilson Botanic Park, which forms two of the boundaries of Berwick Brae.
