Budget cuts at the Herald-Sun must be deep. Leading metropolitan sports columnist and locally based horse trainer Daryl Timms was spotted at Pakenham races on Friday doing his own camera work after the win of David Hayes’ filly Permaiscuous. The horse is raced by a syndicate of 44 women, including some of the most prominent ladies in the industry, together with one man – Hawthorn footballer Shane Crawford. Ridden by champion jockey Craig Williams, the horse saluted for the first time in the second race of the day to the cheers of many of the syndicate, who had made their way to the track to support their noble steed.
