President of the Cardinia Residents and Ratepayers’ Association, Gloria O’Connor, hands a copy of its petition for a post box to Russell Broadbent, Federal Member for McMillan. She was accompanied by CRRA member, Faye Casey (left) and Ahern Road Corner store owner, Sam Hassan (right).

A PETITION to bring a post box to the corner of Ahern and Irving Roads in Pakenham is set to be tabled in Parliament this week.

The Cardinia Residents and Ratepayers Association (CRRA) collected a number of signatures at the Pakenham Heights corner store before handing the petition to Federal Member for McMillan Russell Broadbent.

Mr Broadbent said the explosive development in the area over recent years had created a strong need for a postal collection point there.

As a member of the Parliament’s Petitions Committee, he said he would report back to the CRRA on the progress of the petition.
