Roses like these, at the Flemington Racecourse, are selectively chosen because of their drought-proof varieties.
AS AUTUMN rolls in, now is the perfect time to plant your roses.
Rankins Nursery in Officer has launched a new website for home owners and gardeners alike.
As the face of gardening changes, shopkeeper Mia said the business had kept abreast of climate change with innovative plant varieties and was now proud to show drought tolerant roses bred by Delbard of France - imported, trialled and grown by Rankins.
These roses are selectively bred for Australia’s tough conditions and have been embraced by the industry with rose renowned Flemington Racecourse using just one variety 5000 times to create its stunning floral entranceway and world famous rose gardens.
In a 100-acre slice of heaven in Officer, these roses are imported, trialled and tested to live up to Australia’s tough weather conditions. With millions upon millions of blooms the fields of roses are an amazing sight.
For the first time in Australia a new breed of dahlia from Delbard of France has been imported.
