INSTEAD of collecting presents from friends for his 70th birthday, Pakenham Upper resident Mike Toth decided to gather some donations for his local fire brigade.
The generous thought raised $2100 for the Pakenham Upper CFA.
On Sunday 13 September, Mike Toth of Pakenham Upper had a very special birthday. Instead of receiving gifts from his many valued friends, Mike thought that it would be a great idea for donations to be given to the Pakenham Upper Fire Brigade.
Captain Mike Bedford was invited to the afternoon celebrations on Sunday 13 September, and on behalf of the brigade accepted the many envelopes containing donations. Captain Bedford thanked all those involved in the fundraising effort, and wished Mr Toth well on his 70th birthday.
