Where better to discuss the coming forum than in the Alice Loveridge Rose Garden at Blackburne Square, Berwick? From left, Soroptimist past club and past region president Kay Drysdale, Soroptimist Berwick president Barbara Phillips and immediate past president Ann Beauchamp.
SOROPTIMIST Berwick will host the Soroptimist Federation of the South West Pacific conference to be held in the Casey Civic Centre from Thursday, 26 April through the weekend.
Coordinator and Soroptimist Berwick immediate past president Ann Beauchamp said 60 delegates from 12 countries – Australia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, and Thailand – would attend the event.
Ms Beauchamp said the conference was being held outside Sydney for the first time in 35 years.
“Delegates will stay at the Quest Motel, Narre Warren, and this gives us a chance to showcase Casey restaurants,” she said.
“This is a fabulous opportunity to have people from many countries hosted in our city.
“We will also have representatives from Rotary, Lions and Zonta at our meetings.
“Delegates will begin arriving on Wednesday, 25 April – Anzac Day – and will be here until after the weekend,” Ms Beauchamp said.
