Residents have been busy making waves at the Pakenham Outdoor Pool with thousands taking advantage of the refurbished facility during the hot summer months. Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Ronald said attendances continued to be pleasing, with a total of 5958 making a splash at the pool after hundreds celebrated its official opening on 17 November. As temperatures soared into the high 30s on Saturday, a season-high 550 locals chose to cool off at the outdoor pool. Since summer began, 4679 locals have visited the facility – an average of 123 a day. Among those to have jumped in are, from left, Tayla Crawford, Kaitlyn Olierook, Ashleigh Schnider and Shauna Smith.
